Karol Derwich, PhD – graduate of the Institute of American Studies and Polish Diaspora at the Jagiellonian University and M.A. graduate in the Center for Latin American Studies at Warsaw University. His main fields of interest include inter-American relations and Latin American politics. Author of such books as Instrumenty polityki zagranicznej USA wobec państw Ameryki Łacińskiej, 1945–2000 [Instruments of U.S.–Latin American Policy, 1945–2000] (2010) and W krainie Pierzastego Węża. Historia Meksyku od podboju do czasów współczesnych [In the Country of Quetzalcoatl. History of Mexico from the Conquest to the Present Times] (2014). Also, he wrote numerous articles related to the contemporary political processes in Latin America.
