Krzysztof Pleśniarowicz analyses the process of dialogue and polyphony in the poetry of Józef Czechowicz (1903-1939) as a path to drama: the "dramatisation of the ballad". He analyses the dramatic works created in the last years of the poet's life as a consequence of this process and the pursuit of a contemporary morality play, reconciling the aesthetic with the ethical. He divides Czechowicz's dramas into subjective ("Czasu jutrzennego", "Bez nieba", "Waga i cień") and epic ("Jasne miecze", "Obraz", "Niegodzien i godnni") and in a specific "balladisation of the drama" he sees the reasons for the failures of these works on stage and the reasons for their success in the radio "theatre of the imagination". He describes two theatrical premieres of Czechowicz's dramas: "Czasu jutrzennego" directed by Wilam Horzyca (1939) and "Niegodzien i godni" directed by Tadeusz Kantor (1945).
