Studies on science in documentary and informational contexts (bibliology and information science) emphasize scientific processes in the cultural, epistemological, and technical dimensions as processes of transformation of information and scientific knowledge. We live in a time of historical technological change, ubiquitous ICT and the creation of a "new space", which is related to the need to understand the recent past and understand how the current space of science and technology has been shaped. The considerations contained in this book are included in the field of social sciences in the discipline of social communication and media studies, with particular emphasis on the information science (in terms of information science) approach to the formation of the European Research Area.
