Digital Genres 3 is the third volume in a series devoted to contemporary forms of expression in digital culture, continuing the work begun in 2018 and 2024. This time, the author focus exclusively on phenomena emerging from the newest media—those shaped in response to the pandemic, information overload, the rapid development of artificial intelligence, and the surge of disinformation. The book presents six conversations with practitioners of contemporary internet culture: from the study of patostreaming and the “patointernet,” through analyses of shitposting, the Twine phenomenon, the world of “digital postcards,” and the evolution of memetics, to the grotesque domain of AI slop and the viral “chałkoń.” Each chapter explores digital culture from the perspective of those who co-create it—lurkers, archivists, meme-makers, and administrators. Developed within the UBU lab at the Jagiellonian University, this volume serves both as a record of research, practice, and reflection on digital creativity, and as a bridge between theory and the lived experience of network participants. It offers a panoramic view of contemporary digital genres—dynamic, fluid, and constantly redefining the boundaries of art, communication, and everyday life.
