Phonetic properties of court rotas of małopolskie province
The work is the analysis of phonetic properties of court rotas of małopolskie province coming from the end of the 14th century and the first half of the 15th century. The scope of examined phenomena covers the most important vocalic processes: development of nasal vowels, vowel changes in dependant positions, influence of semi-open vowels on vowels which precede them, deviations in terms of ablaut, change of ky, gy group into ki, gi, transition from u into i after soft consonants, limitation of occurrence and reduction of non-accented vowels, and finally changes caused by counteraction. Within consonantism, realization of voiced and voiceless consonants in consonant groups in syllable onset and syllable coda of words, transition of t’, d’ into ć, 3’ (africatization), changes of s’, z’ into ś, ź and r’ into r-, mazuration (mazurzenie) as well as structure and evolution of selected consonant groups were described. The analysis of court rotas of małopolskie province carried out showed not only the richness of the document as a source for researching the history of our language, but also showed one of general directions of the type of considerations from historical dialectology. On the basis of analysis of selected phonetic tasks it was possible to notice not only the specificity of pronunciation of inhabitants of Małopolska in terms of some phonetic phenomena, but also the differences present between two general areas of the district – the central and northern ones.
