This publication presents issues relating to the functioning of non-governmental organizations in the light of the current Statute on Public Benefit and Voluntary Work. Extensive empirical research into non-governmental organizations performed by the author demonstrated the strengths and weaknesses of entities with the status of public benefit organizations. The book forms a summary of the consequences to the functioning of the Statute on Public Benefit and Voluntary Work which may be helpful in improving the effectiveness of existing public benefit organizations and provide a guideline for work on amending the Statute. Further, special attention was focused on the economic aspect of the activities of public benefit organizations.
Małgorzata Halszka Kurleto is Doctor of Humanities in the discipline of management studies, graduate of the Jagiellonian University, Faculty of Law and Administration, Associate Professor (Polish: adiunkt) in the Associated Chairs of Cultural Sciences, Faculty of Management and Social Communication, Jagiellonian University, counselor-at-law and author of papers and books on business law and public benefit organizations. Dr M. H. Kurleto also works as a legal adviser to non-governmental organizations.
