The purpose of this work is to carry out analytical and interpretative procedures, as a result of which the cognitive potential of three novel works will be revealed: The Doll by B. Prus, Without Dogma by H. Sienkiewicz and Bene nati by E. Orzeszkowa.
Already the juxtaposition of these items may seem unobvious, so it demands adequate justification. Leaving aside the almost identical nature of the main plot of the three works, it would be possible to determine their genus proximum et diferentia specificam within the general assumptions from which the poetics of realist narrative grows.
