The issue of European integration and its economic consequences is one of the most controversial topics and the source of many disputes. In particular, the EU's strong emphasis on environmental issues results in the constant tightening of existing regulations and the creation of new ones - a process that raises many discrepancies. The severity of these regulations for the current generation, along with the hypothetical benefits that will only accrue to future generations, causes considerable problems in understanding their justification. That is why this book discusses selected elements of the integration and environmental protection process. Its purpose is to provide arguments justifying the described actions along with an example cost-benefit analysis.
The book is by no means a coherent and complete textbook dealing exhaustively with all aspects of environmental integration and regulation. You can certainly write much more on each of the selected topics, deepen the proposed discussion, expand the list of examples and case studies, creating separate monographs. The outlined problems were presented according to a certain pattern; the theoretical background (where justified and required) is supplemented with practical illustrations of the implementation of individual concepts.
