The book is aftermath of the conference “Creator – Work – Researcher” (Twórca – Dzieło – Badacz) that took place at Jagiellonian University in Krakow (November 4 – 5, 2011). Together with the ceremonial session of the “Artes Liberales” Academy that event occurred as the most important points of the celebrations of the 10th anniversary of Inter-faculty Individual Studies in the Humanities (MISH) of the Jagiellonian University. Some of the texts published here had been written because of that anniversary, some of them found there their source of inspiration. However by no means it is just a commemorative jubilee book. Aim of this publication is to go beyond conventional borders between different sub-disciplines of the contemporary humanities and to connect smoothly different methods and research approaches in one perspective. Young Polish scholars – Authors of fifteen articles published here refer to the area of research that is limited by these three key-words: creator, work, researcher. The threesome forms a triangle in which there is a place for almost every approach in the humanities: literary studies, cultural studies, history of art, anthropology, history, philosophy and new (and “old”) media studies.
