In psychology and psychotherapy, the term separation is used in a much broader sense than colloquially and is understood as a mental process. The processes of separation accompany a person throughout their life and are necessary for the transition from one developmental stage to the next. Each chapter of this book shows a different perspective on separation. Theoretical views on separation in different concepts are presented. The developmental perspective, the results of psychological research, and reflections on separation in psychotherapy are presented. The authors also share experiences of their clinical practice.
The monograph was published in the anniversary year of the Systemic Training Center. All the authors and the author of each particular chapter are professionally affiliated with the Center and were invited by the editors to share their experiences on the topic of separation.
The monograph ..... will be an important item on the Polish publishing market. Its recipients may include psychologists, educators, doctors, as well as other professionals in helping professions.
