Biography
Małgorzata Bogunia-Borowska is a sociologist, media and film expert and cultural resercher.
Professor at the Institute of Sociology of the Jagiellonian University. A graduate of the Faculty of Philosophy and the Faculty of Management and Social Communication of the Jagiellonian University. A graduate of postgraduate studies in economics and management completed at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the Jagiellonian University. A scholarship holder of the Science Foundation for Polish Science and a multiple scholarship holder of the government of the Italian Republic. Member of the International Sociological Association (ISA), Polish Sociological Association (PTS) and the International Association of Visual Sociology (IVSA).
She specializes in the sociology of everyday life, visual sociology, media and culture, media and film. Explores contemporary cultural and civilizational transformation, in particular, all aspects of life in a consumer society. She is also interested in the fundamental system of social values and the process of its manifestation in social life and social relations in various social spaces. Her interests include the issues of media education and communication.
